Il concept creativo del ristorante è quello di restituire l’idea di uno spazio all’aperto, una sorta di veranda con giardino. Il pavimento in granito e le maioliche artigianali dipinte a mano posate sui muretti perimetrali – come le altre superfici di ceramica smaltata artigianale che ritroviamo nei diversi ambienti – sono su disegno. In questo caso l’ispirazione nasce dalla casa milanese di Piero Portaluppi e dai suoi lavori sugli stucchi per diversi edifici; tavolini bianchi, sedie e cuscini rivestiti da un tessuto a righe completano lo spazio. Le lampade nate per l’indoor evocano lanterne da esterno e i piccoli proiettori che illuminano le piante, disegnano ombre organiche sul soffitto. In questa grande stanza che ricorda un’elegante terrazza, la ‘vista’ è sulle opere dell’artista fotografo Luciano Romano. Si tratta di immagini che raffigurano il sito archeologico delle terme di Baia, primo progetto della storia legato al benessere. Tramite proiezioni ad hoc, l’autore riporta idealmente l’acqua e le sue rifrazioni nei luoghi dedicati alla cura di sé: legando il tema della luce a quello, ineludibile, del suo riflesso.

The creative concept of the restaurant is to mimic an open-air space, namely a veranda with a garden. Like all the other handcrafted glazed ceramic surfaces in the exhibition rooms, the granite floor and the artisanal hand-painted majolica tiles on the perimeter walls are custom-made. In this case, they draw inspiration from the Milanese home of Piero Portaluppi and his stuccoworks for various buildings; white tables, chairs and cushions upholstered in a striped fabric complete the décor of the space. The indoor lamps evoke outdoor lanterns and small spotlights illuminate the plants, casting organic shadows on the ceiling. In this big room reminiscent of an elegant terrace, the focus is on the works of the artist/photographer Luciano Romano. His images depict the archaeological site of the Baths of Baiae, the first wellness project in history. Through a series of ad hoc projections, the author ideally brings water and its reflections back to this ancient spa, linking light to another essential theme: its refraction.
